Merchant of Boston. Accounts and letter books relating to trade between Boston and Calcutta. Includes records of two firms in which Phillips was interested: John C. Phillips and Company, of New York, whose affairs Phillips directed from his Boston home; and the Danville Mines, a silver mining enterprise of Danville, Nevada (records and letterbook containing copies of letters from Alexander Trippel, mine agent, 1877-1884).
